Total Health Enlarges Space in 2012 – Office Opportunities for Practitioners

 

In January 2012, Total Health Nutrition Center, the in-house supplement store for the Carolina Center for Integrative Medicine, is expanding to an 800 square-foot full service retail store. This space will also have three 345 square foot premium office spaces available to licensed health care providers. The THNC works with over 200 supplement companies and has been providing the Triangle with physician-and pharmaceutical-grade supplements since 1994. Dear Health Care Provider:

 

As you may know, Total Health Nutrition Center (THNC) is the in-house supplement store for the Carolina Center for Integrative Medicine, P.A, the medical practice of John C. Pittman, M.D. Total Health Nutrition Center works with over 200 supplement companies and has been providing the Triangle with physician and pharmaceutical-grade supplements since 1994. Supplements are sold to the general public as well as to patients of the Carolina Center.

 

In December 2011, THNC will be expanding into the suite adjacent to our current space, adding over 2000 square feet to our existing 3200 square foot office. This expansion will allow us to grow from a small office/store room operation to a full service retail store with over 700 square feet of public area. In addition to the store, this space will have a variety of premium treatment and consultation rooms available to health providers.  Current plans are for there to be two spaces that are available for full-time rental for exclusive use. The third space will consist of two treatment rooms which can be rented together or just a single room on a part-time basis for practitioners who do not need a dedicated space for daily use. This can be ideal for someone who may have a primary practice location elsewhere and would like this to be a satellite facility. This room can be rented by the day as infrequently as one day a month or up to three to four days per week.

 

The anticipated opening for this new space will be in late December 2011 with our goal to identify potential renters by September. With the current clientele for both Total Health and the Carolina Center, this is an extraordinary opportunity for a provider to enhance their current practice or to help a new provider to become established. Among the numerous advantages for practitioners to locate in this space are the following:

  • Association with the Carolina Center for Integrative Medicine, the oldest and most respected integrative medical practice in the Triangle
  • Association with an established supplement sales facility with an ever-growing clientele
  • Referrals from the established client base of the Carolina Center
  • Superb location in the west Raleigh area, close to Rex Hospital area and with easy access to Wade Avenue and highways I-40 and I-440.
  • Prime office space in Class A medical office building, the office suite being newly remodeled with high-end features including built in shelves, privacy partition, etc.
  • Commission payment of 15% for all supplement sales made on the recommendation of the practitioner carrying any specific supplements requested.
  • Optional management, insurance and billing support (see next section)

 

Rental and Support options include the following:

  • Rental of space for a flat monthly rate; in this instance, the tenant will handle his/her own schedule, payments, insurance, and other administrative issues. Rental rate will include use of a bathroom within the suite, a waiting area and break room.
  • Rental of space plus office management assistance; THNC will provide reception, check-in, check-out, making appointments, handling payments, bookkeeping, billing and any other accounting or office-related activities agreed upon. (Note: A separate management fee will be charged in addition to rent based on each tenant’s individual situation.)
  • Rental of space plus office management assistance (as described above) plus filing insurance for licensed health care providers whose services are potentially covered by healthcare insurance. This service can be provided for in-network or out-of-network practitioners and will be provided by the Carolina Center.

 

Our goal is to find someone of high quality who will complement our services and to whom we will refer patients. Among the types of practitioners we feel would fit best in this expansion space are the following:

  ·         Chiropractor: Chiropractic care can reap major health dividends for many patients who seek integrative medicine services. We would like to have a chiropractor as one of our anchor tenants. 

  ·         Acupuncturist: Acupuncture is a vital complement to the CCIM’s therapeutic repertoire. We are open to either a full-time tenant (one of the two rooms for exclusive rental) or even someone who uses the part-time room if they could come in at least once a week.

  ·         Physical Therapist: We have referred many patients to PTs in the past. Ideally, this would be someone well versed in various types of massage and other bodywork techniques, etc. Again, this could be either a full-time or a part-time practitioner. 

  ·         Psychotherapist (or Mind-Body Specialist): Mind-body medicine is an important facet of the Carolina Center’s approach to healing. We are open to a variety of practitioners and methodologies including PhD therapists or MD psychiatrists with an Integrative approach.

·         Others: We are open all types of health care providers who see the value of being part of this association. While we have specific interest in the above type practitioners, we welcome all inquiries. 

 

Rental and Support Rates:

  • Full Time Rooms:
    • Corner Room – Premium single large 234 actual square foot room (270 rentable square feet) with windows on two sides, built-in cabinetry and desk and privacy partition beside door. $850/month
    • Double Treatment Room – two treatment rooms, one slightly larger than the other (10’ x 12’ and 8’ x 12’), for practitioners who can go between patients undergoing therapy. $900/month
  • Part Time Rooms:
    • Double or Single Treatment Rooms – two treatment rooms are available, the same sizes as noted above with the option to rent one or both rooms.
      • Larger Room - $75/day
      • Smaller Room - $60/day
      • Both Rooms - $125/day
  • Office Management Package:  These rates may be variable based on the scope of assistance agreed upon. Rates for basic management without billing or extensive booking would be:
    • Full Time Tenants: $1500/month
    • Part Time Tenants:
      • Single Room – $90/day
      • Both Rooms - $100/day
  • Insurance Filing: 10% of payments received resulting from insurance filing.
